With age, breasts lose firmness and begin to droop. This happens as a result of breastfeeding, skin aging and also due to weight loss. Breasts become flaccid and, under the influence of gravity, a phenomenon referred to as "ptosis", i.e. sagging of breasts, occurs. This problem can cause a disturbance of self-esteem and, consequently, lower the quality of life. Then, the solution to the problem is breast lift, which can be performed as a separate operation, or a lift with implants in case patients also want to increase the breast size.
Breast lift with implants is a surgery carried out under general anaesthesia. It involves placing an implant, cutting away excess skin and shaping the gland so that the breasts become firm and full. During the operation, the nipples are relocated under the skin to a new place so that sensation is preserved. Depending on the technique used, scars after mastopexy with implants run around the areola, as well as vertically, or in the shape of an inverted letter T.
Why is it worth it?
The surgery allows simultaneous lift and increasing the volume of breasts
What do you need to know?

About 2 weeks before the surgery, an anaesthesiological consultation admitting to the surgery takes place. The Patient should attend this consultation with the results of all the tests; from the surgical point of view, the ultrasound or breast mammography are very important. On the day of surgery, the Patient arrives with an empty stomach, about 1 hour before the operation, and signs the relevant documents. Before the patient enters the operating room, there is an anaesthesiological examination and a meeting with the surgeon who makes the necessary drawing on the breasts for the procedure. The procedure of breast lift with implants takes place under general anaesthesia and lasts about 2-3 hours. First, the surgery involves insertion of an implant, as in the case of the operation involving breast augmentation with implants, which increases breast projection, following which the surgeon performs the plastic surgery of the gland itself, while relocating the nipple-areola complex upwards in accordance with previous calculations. After the operation, the Patient has an appropriate dressing and a specialist compression bra is put on. On the following day, the Patient leaves the clinic and has follow-up checks schedule (the first one takes place after 1-2 weeks).
Refrain from physical exercise for 6-8 weeks. After this time, physical activity should be resumed gradually, a compression bra should be worn for at least 6 weeks after the surgery.
Blood clotting disorders, vascular diatheses, uncontrolled comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, smoking, obesity, pregnancy, unrealistic expectations of the patient.
The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. Pain in the operated area is a consequence of practically every surgical operation. It usually subsides with the use of basic analgesics, but rest is a key element of postoperative convalescence to improve wound healing and recovery.
Filling and lifting of breasts.
With the passage of time, the breasts will continue to gradually fall under the influence of gravity. How long it will last also depends on the patient's skin quality, age, possible pregnancy.
Whether the effect is natural depends on the surgical technique used (including the type and size of implants). During the consultation, the surgeon selects the appropriate implants to ensure a natural effect based on the breast measurements.
After the surgery of breast lift with implants, complications can occur as with any surgical procedure, including infection, impaired wound healing, scar overgrowth, as well as complications connected with the breast implants themselves. However, if the patient follows the preoperative and postoperative instructions, the operation is safe.
The final surgery result may be evaluated 3 months after the procedure.
Despite the breast surgery, with the passage of time, the breasts may continue to gradually fall. It may then be necessary to perform a reoperation. It is not possible to give a definite estimate of how long the operation results last, as this depends on many individual, variable factors directly related to the patient.
