The MiraDry treatment is a non-invasive procedure of hyperhidrosis treatment performed in order to significantly reduce sweating. The method involves delivery of controlled electromagnetic energy to the underarm region. This results in significant heating of numerous sweat glands in this area, thanks to which they are eliminated and, what is important, they do not undergo subsequent regeneration. During the treatment, a special head is applied to the skin under the armpit. The patient may feel slight pain or warmth. Therefore, local anaesthesia in the form of anaesthetic injections is usually applied. One treatment with MiraDry usually brings the desired results. To maximise effectiveness, a follow-up treatment is recommended after three months. Patients do not need to remain under medical supervision and can go home immediately afterwards. In the following days, irritation, swelling and pain may occur, which can be effectively relieved with commonly available analgesics or ice packs. The treatment does not cause development of keloids.

Botulinum toxin (botox) is a substance widely used in various fields of medicine nowadays. However, it has a special place in dermatology and aesthetic medicine. It works by blocking the secretion of acetylcholine, an important mediator in the sweating process. Basically, this means that the nerves responsible for stimulating sweating are blocked. The treatment can be performed on practically any area of the body. First, a local anaesthetic cream is applied and then, using a very short and thin needle, the preparation is inserted into the skin by pricking. Constant cooling with ethyl chloride, which has an additional anaesthetic effect, increases comfort during the procedure.
