Urogynaecology is a response to growing interest in treatments focused on the intimate areas, bladder and pelvic floor. As these subjects are no longer a taboo, increasing numbers of women chose to improve their wellbeing by seeing a doctor and undertaking urogynaecological treatment.
This discipline is devoted to pathologies of the feminine pelvic floor, i.e. the whole muscle and fascia system, structures that support abdominal organs in place. It provides a response to such problems as urinary incontinence, bladder overactivity, different forms of prolapse of pelvic organs (bladder, urethra, uterus, vagina, bowels, rectum), through to disorders and dysfunctions related to the quality of life as a result of functioning of the lower section of the urinary system, gastrointestinal system and sexual functions.
